ULM'S ULTIMATE CHALLENGE! ratiopharm Ulm to visit ALBA Berlin in Elite 8!
For ratiopharm Ulm, the German Cup will provide the ultimate challenge. Advancing to the Elite Eight round for the second consecutive season, ratiopharm Ulm will visit historic MaxSchmellinghalle in Berlin to battle German power ALBA Berlin next month with a ticket to Hamburg and the Bundesliga Top 4 tournament on the line.
Bundesliga commissioner Jan Pommer was part of a live BBL.TV "German Cup Draw" broadcast following Thursday nights Giessen-Tubingen Cup game. Exciting matchups favor a regional flair as Walter Tigers Tubingen will host EnBW Ludwigsburg, ProA Cuxhaven Bascats will entertain local Bundesliga squad Eisbaren Bremerhaven and Artland Dragons will host the winner of NewYorker Phantoms Braunschweig against brose Baskets Bamberg. Earlier this season ratiopharm Ulm upset ALBA Berlin at Sportszentrum Kuhberg, beating Berlin in Ulm for the first time in team history. Last year, Ulm's upset attempt fell short in a Febuary matchup at MaxSchmellinghalle in Berlin.
