This year, Head Coach Chris Fleming emphasized to his team the challenge presented in Ulm and had his troops ready. Clearly, Artland entered the game with high confidence from their outstanding Bundesliga season, their advancement to the ULEB Cup playoffs and their recent hardfought road win over ALBA Berlin at MaxSchmellinghalle in Berlin. The experiences combined to prepare Artland for Saturday's afternoon action. Meanwhile, ratiopharm Ulm aimed to add Artland to the long list of upsets at Sportszentrum Kuhberg over the last two seasons.
