| Returning to ratiopharm Ulm for a
second season, Michael Bree will once again be the teams floor
general after a brilliant 2003-2004 campaign that saw the Irish
playmaker pace the 2.Bundesliga South in assists per game at
7.5. "Breezy" also shot 37% from three point land and 77%
from the foul line as he directed Ulm's attack with skill and
intelligence. Also a point guard for the Irish National
team, Michael represented his country this fall in European
Qualifying games against Slovakia, Cypress, England and Denmark.
The 6'1 guard with extraordinary feel for the game played his
college basketball at Davidson College where he was coached by
Bob McKillop. A native of Sligo, Ireland, Bree comes from
a large family and stands as the first ever Irish basketball
player given a four year full scholarship to an NCAA Division 1
institution. While at Davidson, Michael played along side
current Ulm teammate and best friend Emeka Erege. Last
season, Bree scored a career high 19 points on two occasions,
first at Chemnitz 12-17-03 and then again on St Patricks Day
3-17-04 at Nurnberg. He reached double digit assists 8
times including amazing performances of 16 assists against
Chemnitz (4-8-04), 15 against Tubingen (10-26-03) and 12 against
Jena (11-1-03), Jena (2-21-04) and Heidelberg (4-27-04).
Tremendous in transition, Michael is an excellent passer and
makes his teammates better by doing the little things on the
floor to help his team win. A tenacious competitor and
co-captain of the team, Bree is in top fitness after a summer of
commitment and hardwork. Expect another excellent season
from Michael Bree. |
