Working as Assistant coach for the Kansas Cagerz in the USBL, Mike T helped Head Coach Francis Flax and the organization to a record setting 2004 USBL season.  The Cagerz finished 20-10 with a franchise best perfect 15-0 home mark at the BiCentennial Center in Salina, Kansas.  Hosting the USBL Post Season Festival, the Cagerz blew out the Adirondack Wildcats 124-94 in the quarterfinals before being upset in the semi-finals by the Brooklyn Kings 100-96.  Cagerz wing Cleotis Brown was named 2004 USBL 6th man of the year while guard Nate Johnson and Jeff Graves were named to the USBL All Rookie team.  Johnson was later invited to training camp after signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Coach Taylor contributed to the Cagerz as a player development coach working with guards and post men for daily individual workouts.  He also helped Coach Flax with game planning, video breakdown, practice and bench coaching.  Absolutely loving the season in Salina working for one of the best (if not the best) organizations in the USBL, Mike T holds many positive memories from the experience.
