Oldenburg's 2010-2011 roster has a new look to it but remains filled with talent. Star scoring wing Rickey Paulding returns to lead the Thunderbirdsand the Bundesliga All Star remains a go-to-guy in Oldenburg. This season, the former Missouri Tiger star is averaging 11.2ppg 5reb and 3.4ast while hitting 33% from beyond the arc. Veteran point guard Lou Campbell joins the Thunderbirds after an excellent season with rival Bremerhaven in 2009-2010. An athletic and experienced floor leader, Campbell excels in transition and has produced 10.4ppg 4.6ast for Oldenburg. Skilled German big man Christopher McNauhton (5.3ppg) plays a key role in the frontcourt after moving north to Oldenburg from Gottingen. Along with McNaughton, Australlian center Aron Baynes brings a physical presence to the Thunderbirds and has given his team 6ppg 4reb and strong play on the block. Next to Baynes, skilled forward Oliver Stevic has made a good impression on the Bundesliga scoring 12.9ppg 7.7reb as a steady playmaker in Oldenburg. Sharpshooting Lithuanian National team player Mindaugas Lukauskis has hit 45% from three while scoring 11.6ppg in Oldenburg. After a recent roster move saw the Thunderbirds release two players, Oldenburg added quality with former NBA point guard Eddie Gill and skilled wing Luka Bogdanovic. A former star at Weber State, Gill logged minutes with the New Jersey Nets, Indiana Pacers and Seattle Supersonics before taking his game to Europe. After success in Oostende Belgium, Gill joined Oldenburg just before Christmas and has boosted the Oldenburg attack. Meanwhile, the experienced Bogdanovic has played with Joventut Badalona in the Spanish ACB, Roanne and LeMans in the French Pro A and with Partizan Belgrade from his native Serbia. Both Gill and Bogdanovic look to be excellent additions for the Thunderbirds. Depth is provided by big man Robin Smeulders and hardworking guard Daniel Hain. Working to reach the pinnacle of German Basketball like in 2008-2009, Head coach Predrag Krunic and staff have many weapons and veteran players to work with this season in Oldenburg.
