Over the last three seasons, Sportszentrum Maspernplatz has not been kind to ratiopharm Ulm. Febuary 25th, 2007, Paderborn jumped all over Ulm as they ran away with a 96-67 win. April 18th, 2008, Ulm led 58-51 at half only to see Paderborn's second half explosion outscore Ulm 101-91. Finally, last season, January 7th, 2009 Paderborn took an 82-66 home win over Ulm. These were three road trips to Paderborn that saw Ulm come up empty. This weekend, ratiopharm Ulm is focused to fill their road trip with a good performance and earn their first victory at Sportszentrum Maspernplatz in Paderborn.

ratiopharm Ulm post man John Bryant brings energy and enthusiasm to the team from the bench or as a starter.
And Ulm will pack momentum with them as they load up the team bus. After ratiopharm Ulm's exciting 75-72 home win over NewYorker Phantoms Braunschweig, the team set their sights on the next challenge. Looking ahead to this weekends road trip to Paderborn, ratiopharm Ulm is focused for their first road win at Sportszentrum Maspernplatz. Both Ulm and Paderborn celebrated the 'Aufstieg' in the same season of 2005-2006 as Ulm won the 2.Bundesliga South and Paderborn took the 2.Bundesliga North.

ratiopharm Ulm Christian Burns is enjoying a terrific season
Paderborn's 2009-2010 season tipped off with an 85-79 road win over Phoenix Hagen October 11th. After the initial victory, Paderborn has dropped 9 straight games. Most recently, Paderborn lost in Tubingen last weekend falling 93-81 to the Tigers at Paul Horn Arena. At 1-9, Paderborn is fighting to stay in the Bundesliga.

ratiopharm Ulm stepped up their defense in last weekends home win over NewYorker Phantoms Braunschweig. Here, Christian Burns (23) and John Bryant (14) double team in the paint.
Paderborn has almost completely revamped their roster. Leading the teams attack in the backcourt, skillful guard Malik Moore returned to Paderborn after a successful season in Pro A with MBC. A quick, attacking combo guard, Moore is a terrific scorer and currently leads Paderborn averaging 12.7ppg 2.8reb 3.9ast. Point guard duties are shared between crafty DeAndre Haynes and skilled young German playmaker Nicolai Simon. A rookie from Kent State, Haynes has produced 7ppg with 2.5reb and 2.3ast as a leader for Paderborn. Meanwhile, Simon works tirelessly on defense and has given his team with 5ppg and 82% from the foul line. On the wing, Paderborn features small forward Sefton Barrett who averages 9.9ppg 3.5reb 34% threes with an inside-out offensive game. Rookie guard Lawrence Borha has made the transition from the University of Utah to Paderborn and currently provides 3.4ppg 1.3reb 28% three point shooting. German wing Daniel Lieneke is playing more minutes on the perimeter this season as well. In the post, Paderborn features Terrance Dials (12.5ppg 4.5reb), Kevin Langford (9.3ppg 4.8reb 37% threes) and Matt Terwilliger (7.6ppg 5reb 46% threes). Added into the season to replace injured post man Nate Gerwig, Dials has given Paderborn a boost on the block. Langford, a rookie from TCU, has a skillful post game and plays with energy in the paint. Terwilliger could be the most improved player on Paderborn's team as he has stepped up his production tremendously. Most impressive has been Terwilliger's three point shooting touch hitting 14 of 30 threes on the season. German post man Robert Oehle brings a physical, competitive presence to the frontcourt as well.

ratiopharm Ulm's Lee Humphrey has drilled 22 of his last 34 threes (64%) over a 5 game stretch.
Overall in head to head meetings since the two teams moved into the Bundesliga, Ulm has captured 3 wins over Paderborn while Paderborn has topped Ulm 4 times. This weekends meeting finds Paderborn working to survive and stay in the Bundesliga while ratiopharm Ulm looks to build on last weeks win and work their way back from the up and down start to the season.
