Tuesday September 22nd, 2009 Welcome to Ulm Robin Benzing! ratiopharm Ulm welcomed talented young forward Robin Benzing to his new home as the shooting star of the German national team's 2009 European Championship run in Poland practiced with his new team for the first time Tuesday morning at TSG Soflingen. This summer, Robin was the topscorer at the U20 Championships averaging 22.2ppg before averaging 5.5ppg and shooting 53% from the floor for the German National team in Poland. Highlights from Robin's first National team experiences include a clutch three pointer from the right wing helping Germany beat Russia and a 16 point performance against the tough Greece National team. Entering his rookie season in the Bundesliga, Robin worked with intensity through Ulm's morning skillwork and weight training before meeting the Ulm media for the first time. Speaking with confidence from his strong summer and excitement about his new challenges, Robin credited his family and Marko Pesic for tremendous help throughout his process of signing in Ulm after development with TV Langen Giraffes in Pro A last season. Joining ratiopharm Ulm for the beginning of the teams fourth week of preseason, Robin has much work ahead of him ranging from learning plays to learning to play with new teammates. The 20 year old 6'10 perimeter skilled forward will have the opportunity to earn a major role for ratiopharm Ulm this season. Robin's first game-action with his new team ratiopharm Ulm will likely by Saturday evening against brose Baskets Bamberg at JAKO Arena in Bamberg. Before Saturday's preseason game, ratiopharm Ulm and Robin Benzing have much work to do.
