Monday August 30th, 2010 ratiopharm Ulm Plays Team Game! ratiopharm Ulm showcased their new team for fans in a public practice Sunday afternoon at Sportszentrum Kuhberg in Ulm. Tipping off the last season in traditional Sportszentrum Kuhberg, ratiopharm Ulm welcomed approximately 500 fans for their first look at the new team. Introducing the players, fans welcomed newcomers John Bryant, Sean Sonderleiter, Walt Baxley and Travis Walton to Ulm.

After introductions and interviews, the team warmed up with skillwork before performing an entertaining transition drill with several exciting slams. Pausing for a stretch, players were organized into two teams for the annual team game. Mixing up the teams over three ten minute quarters, Ulm basketball fans were treated to their first look at the new team in a scrimmage situation. Noteable performances were turned in by Christian Grosse's three point shooting and Walt Baxley's creative scoring. Overall, the entertaining team game closed a strong first week of work for the new team.

Celebrating a 38th birthday, ratiopharm Ulm head coach Mike Taylor was treated to the usual birthday hospitality. Keeping with team tradition, Assistant coach Tunde Adekola smushed two cream pies in the coaches face. It was a terrific birthday moment.

ratiopharm Ulm visits Crailsheim for Wednesday night Preseason Opener!
ratiopharm Ulm tips off their preseason schedule Wednesday night September 1st in Crailsheim against the Pro A Merlins. Playing their first official preseason game, Ulm will visit the Merlins without National team players Robin Benzing and Per Gunther and will also likely be without talented young big man Michael Wenzl who is rehabilitating from a minor leg injury. Wing Sebastian Betz also missed Sunday's team game with a minor leg injury and will be evaluated into the week. Last season in the Pro A, Crailsheim finished 16-14 in 6th place. The Merlins are focused for a strong 2010-2011 season and are excited to challenge the Bundesliga team from one hour south in Ulm. In recent season, the two teams have not met. BENZING AND GUNTHER AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS! ratiopharm Ulm players Robin Benzing and Per Gunther have helped Germany to a solid start at the FIBA World Championships in Turkey. After a near upset of favorite Argentina on Saturday night, Germany knocked off favored Serbia in double overtime Sunday night. The hardworking young German team has positioned themselves well with the big upset win and two strong performances in their first two games. Monday night Germany faces Austrailia before enjoying a rest day Tuesday.
