Ulm Martin Thuesen joins ratiopharm Ulm for 2005-2006 after several seasons in Denmark with the Baaken Bears and SK Ahrus.  Thuesen brings excellent experience to Ulm including international court time playing in the FIBA Europe Cup, the NEBL and with the Danish National team.  While in Denmark, Martin achieved much success and received many accolades including winning the Denmark league in 2003-2004 with SK Ahrus and 2004-2005 with Baaken, hoisting the Danish Cup in with Baaken, being named a Danish League all star and named to the All Danish League First team last season.  A crafty playmaker and skilled passer, Thuesen is extremely competitive and looks forward to the challenges ahead with ratiopharm Ulm.  An intelligent player, Martin has a good feel for the point guard position and knows how to lead a team.  This fall, Martin juggled his preseason schedule with ratiopharm Ulm and the starting point guard position for the Danish National team.  Making his debut in Ulm for the Soflingen Kuss game against league rival Kaiserslautern, Martin burst onto the scene scoring 20pts and hitting 5 of 6 threes in leading Ulm to a 107-97 preseason win.  Playing for his country, Martin helped guide Denmark to a Group championship earning advancement into the highest level of European basketball competition next season.  In the decisive game against Ireland, with Denmark needing a victory by 15pts, Thuesen produced a stellar game scoring 5 points while distributing 10 assists in arguably the biggest game in Denmark basketball history.  Riding that high, Martin returned to Ulm ready for a major role in his new team this season as starting point guard.  Ulm fans will enjoy watching Martin direct the ratiopharm Ulm attack this year and appreciate his passion for the game.
