Thursday September 10th, 2009 ratiopharm Ulm Unveils new team at TipOff Gala! ratiopharm Ulm introduced their 2009-2010 team to the public Thursday evening by holding the annual Tip Off Gala at the Stadthaus in Ulm. An entertaining social evening for sponsors, fans and the city of Ulm, the Tip Off Gala is the first opportunity to meet the new team for the 2009-2010 season. At 7pm, ratiopharm Ulm management presented a talk for sponsors as Andreas Oettel introduced the evening and discussed new developments with SWU and 'Orange Zone' Ulm basketball magazine. Next, Dr Thomas Stoll presented a review of last season, covered events of the summer and discussed the direction of the organization and team. Finally, Head coach Mike Taylor presented a speech on Team Building and Motivation for the sponsors. After the Ulm basketball talk, it was time to meet the new team and introduce the new players. Most arrived on an Ulm city bus painted with ratiopharm Ulm images on the side. But the real excitement came when one of Europe's top magicians, Florian Zimmer, magically made Ulm players Lee Humphrey, Sebastian Betz, Rocky Trice and Christian Burns appear on stage before the Tip Off Gala's eyes. The trick was outstanding and brought tremendous energy to the evening. As the team took their stage in the Stadthaus, Radio7 personality Marc Herrmann introduced the players individually and asked each one questions. Following a short period for pictures, players and staff mingled and socialized for the remainder of the evening signing autographs and enjoying conversation with sponsors. A terrific evening to meet the new team, the 2009-2010 Tip Off Gala created tremendous positive energy for the weekend's Fritz & Macziol Cup played at Sportszentrum Kuhberg in Ulm.
