ENERGY FOR THE FUTURE!

ratiopharm Ulm extends Konrad Wysocki's contract for two seasons!

Friday ratiopharm Ulm announced that forward Konrad Wysocki, one of the most effective young German players in the Bundesliga, extended his contract for two seasons with the team.  Joining Captain Emeka Erege, All Star power forward Jeff Gibbs, starting center Bryan Lucas and key reserve Florian Mobius, Wysocki's signing lands a top talent with much potential for the future.  Presently, Konrad is an energizing sixth man off the Ulm bench averaging 7.8ppg 4.2reb while shooting 30% from three, 48% from the floor and 72% from the foul line in just over  18 minutes per game.  Comparing all German-born players, Wysocki currently ranks third in effectiveness rating behind only Giessen's Robert Maras and Gerit Terdenge.  Maybe even more important than statistics is the energizing style of play which Wysocki brings to the floor.  Certainly, in signing Konrad Wysocki, ratiopharm Ulm has a solid building block for the future.

ENERGY FOR ULM FROM NUMBER 13 KONRAD WYSOCKI!

Interestingly enough, the intelligent Wysocki understands building for the future on and off the floor.  Much more than simply a basketball player, Konrad is a well rounded individual with direction for the future in his life.  The Princeton Graduate joined a Florida-based Architecture firm and received his "Green Card" from the US government allowing him to take the job as an architect when his basketball career is complete.  But before Konrad goes full time in building, he wants to spend the next two years helping to build his basketball career and the ratiopharm Ulm team.  Wysocki will work part-time during the summer for his future firm while he finishes fastbreaks with exciting slam dunks for his current Bundesliga team.

After completing his career at Princeton, Konrad came back to Germany in 2004-2005 where he played 18 games for BG Gottingen in the 2.Bundesliga North where he averaged 11.5ppg and 6.3reb. The next season of 2005-2006, Wysocki moved south to former Ulm rival Erdgas Baskets Ehingen where he played the first 11 games of the season scoring 16.3ppg with 10.1reb and shot 56% from the floor.  Mid-season, Konrad operated an out clause in his contract and moved to ratiopharm Ulm where he was a major contributor to the teams "Aufstieg" and championship season.  In 16 games with Ulm, Konrad contributed 10.9ppg and 5.7reb and came up with key performances including a memorable 25 point effort in Ulm's outstanding 105-95 overtime win in Bayreuth.  Not only has Konrad been a big part of Ulm's success on the court, but the athletic 6'8 forward has been a huge hit in Ulm's off floor work with special appearances in schools and working with kids.  Konrad has also coached an Ulm youth basketball team bringing happiness to many youngsters in the area.

Konrad Wysocki has been outstanding for Ulm on and off the floor.

From the Giessen area of Germany, Konrad's father was an excellent professional player in the Bundesliga and basketball is a family tradition for the Wysocki's. Konrad's younger brother Kevin was selected to play in the Rookie All Star game at Bundesliga All Star game and is currently a member of the U20 German National team.  Konrad is also on the radar for a future national team spot and with progress and development, ratiopharm Ulm hopes to help Konrad in his quest.
